It All Starts Here:
The Leadership Development Journey To Guide Your Best Clients

This is where you move your clients beyond talking about values and purpose. It’s time to help them live their mission and change their company culture in many positive ways. How? The transformation begins through your delivery of GuideStar’s program.

The facilitated workshops you’ll lead embed learning within your client’s DNA, creating ongoing advantages that allow their emerging leaders to take the next crucial step in their development and their C-suite to create a culture of high innovation, sustained growth, and profitability.

By the conclusion of these programs, leaders within the client companies you serve will have the following:

  • Clearly defined core values integrated into all systems.
  • A leadership model deployed at all organizational levels.
  • A compelling vision, mission and goals with a clear line of sight.
  • Enhanced capabilities in leadership, knowledge/organizational learning, and execution.
  • A comprehensive transformation plan for the next 12-18 months.

When all these exceptional components come together, we call it Character-based Capitalism (CBC). It’s a special kind of culture where the spirit of entrepreneurship creates more collaborative and trusting relationships among employees. They also learn to think like owners, using their discretionary time to create remarkable ideas and solutions.

Yet, the power of CBC isn’t limited to your client’s environment.

As employees embrace these leadership behaviors, they will learn to create new competitive advantages for the company and customers as well as new opportunities for suppliers.

Are you excited to deliver this value? We are, too. Now, let’s take a closer look at the curriculum you’ll facilitate when you partner with GuideStar to elevate your clients’ cultures and so much more.

Program Structure You’ll Deliver

GuideStar’s curriculum consists of three distinct leadership programs, carefully structured to address the unique challenges of strategic, operational and grassroots leaders.

Each program cascades from the top to build and support the others as the organization advances toward performance excellence.

We’ve carefully structured our approach around four foundational pillars so that you can bring these concepts to life in your client organizations. These pillars work together to create a comprehensive system that transforms your client’s operations at every level.

The Four Pillars of Character-based Capitalism

  1. Shared Core Values – Who Leaders Are
  2. Leaders at All Levels – What Leaders Do
  3. Transcendent Organizational Purpose – Why the Organization Exists
  4. Commitment to Performance Excellence – How Leaders Execute

Understanding these pillars is essential, but implementing them effectively requires a tailored approach for different leadership levels within your client’s organization.

That’s why we’ve designed our delivery system for you to address the unique needs of all leaders: Strategic, operational, and grassroots.

The program you’ll deliver has two parallel leadership tracks:

Strategic Leadership Track

Designed for C-suite executives and senior leadership, this track focuses on organizational strategy, culture design, and the systems needed to cascade character-based leadership throughout the company. The strategic leaders on this track develop the values, vision, mission, and goal that comprise an organizational purpose.

Operational Leadership Track

Tailored for middle management and emerging leaders, this track emphasizes the practical implementation of CBC principles, translating strategy into day-to-day operations and behaviors.

Curriculum Components You’ll Facilitate

Kick-Off Module

Each leadership track begins with a comprehensive kick-off module that you’ll facilitate:

  • Introduces key concepts through The Story of the Character-based Car Company.
  • Establishes a foundation for organizational transformation.
  • Reviews participant assessments (Personality Profile, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Potential).
  • Develops a change vision for your client’s company culture or a participant’s area(s) of responsibility.

Four Pillar Framework

Following the kick-off, you’ll guide your clients as each pillar is explored through dedicated missions and facilitated workshops that engage all participants in a shared workspace.

Pillar One: Shared Core Values

Asynchronous missions on the learning platform help you guide participants to:

  • Define the meaning and importance of shared core values.
  • Develop the core values specific to their organization.
  • Create systems for hiring, recognizing, and rewarding based on character.

Synchronous workshops you facilitate address the application of learning to establish their specific culture and the action steps required to transform the environment.

Pillar Two: Leaders at All Levels

Facilitated workshops allow you to engage participants in digging deeper and more broadly into leadership expectations that need to be embedded within the culture.

In doing so, you’ll help them:

  • Distinguish between management and leadership.
  • Explore servant leadership principles.
  • Develop leadership competencies: Character, emotional intelligence, business knowledge, and critical thinking.

These workshops address all aspects of the pillar and continue to build the Organizational Transformation Plan.

Pillar Three: Transcendent Organizational Purpose

Facilitated workshops you lead seek to put Organizational Purpose into context, beginning with the vision that inspires everyone, the mission that clearly defines why the company exists, and the goal that powers the company’s financial engine.

You’ll help participants learn how to:

  • Craft meaningful vision and mission statements.
  • Develop organizational goal.
  • Create line-of-sight from individual roles to purpose.

Multiple sessions engage leadership exercises and integration with the Organizational Transformation Plan.

Pillar Four: Commitment to Performance Excellence

Several facilitated workshops help you guide participants to learn and apply the distinctive attributes essential to creating a high-reliability learning organization.

You’ll help participants discover ways to:

  • Develop leadership attributes that are transformational, emotionally intelligent, and servant-focused.
  • Enhance knowledge attributes, specifically transparency and collaboration.
  • Strengthen execution attributes in teamwork and mindfulness.

The exercises associated with these attributes identify key actions that need to be integrated into the Organizational Transformation Plan to affect company performance positively and permanently.

Outcomes and Measurement

The program is designed to move an organization along the Journey to Performance Excellence, which begins with helping your clients understand the business stage in which they currently operate:

  1. Reactive: Chaos and reactive management dominate the culture.
  2. Systems: Processes to achieve uniformity and efficiency exist within some departments but not throughout a company.
  3. Alignment: Leaders strive to “connect efforts” to a defined organizational purpose.
  4. Integration: Silos between departments have disappeared to increase enterprise-wide collaboration and innovation.
  5. Entanglement: A fully engaged workforce where everyone thinks and acts like owners while driving a pervasive culture of performance excellence that makes competitors irrelevant.

Implementation Support You’ll Provide

Transformation doesn’t end when the formal program you deliver concludes. Instead, the teachings become embedded in your client’s organizational DNA, creating ongoing advantages that evolve and strengthen over time.

Through regular assessment and calibration, you’ll ensure your client’s transformation stays on track while adapting to changing business conditions and emerging opportunities with mechanisms like these:

  • Guiding Coalition Formation: You’ll develop an internal leadership team to champion transformation, ensuring the initiative maintains momentum and addresses organizational realities.

  • Action Teams: You’ll establish cross-functional implementation teams addressing specific action plans for priorities that arise from team meetings, providing practical application of program concepts while breaking down silos.

  • Organizational Transformation Plan: You’ll create a comprehensive roadmap for the next 12-18 months, translating program learning into concrete actions with clear timelines, responsibilities, and metrics.

  • Metrics and Measurement: You’ll implement customized tracking systems that monitor operational results and cultural indicators, providing clear evidence of progress and areas for continued focus.

  • Leadership Coaching: You’ll support key leaders as they implement new approaches, helping them overcome challenges and optimize their impact throughout the transformation process.

By systematically building Character-based Capitalism throughout your client’s organization, you’ll help their leaders create the foundation for sustainable success in today’s dynamic business environment.

Our clients consistently report improved operational results and a fundamental shift in how their teams collaborate, innovate, and execute.
